Growing Up Online

So, I have a bit of a girl crush on Emma Gannon which I don’t think will come as a surprise if you follow my Twitter. I first came across her blog in November last year when she wrote a piece in response to Essena O’Neill quitting the internet with a cry of SOCIAL MEDIA ISNT REAL! I have been obsessed ever since. I love Emma’s blog, her weekly newsletter and her podcast – she has a really accessible way of putting her points across and I love her attitude to the online world. Her blog post The Anti-Bucket List in December inspired my now monthly posts of the same name and her encouragement to put your work out there has changed the way I think about blowing my own trumpet.

The Half Way Through Review

At the beginning of this year I, like many other people the world over, set myself my 2016 New Year's Resolutions. I also wrote a blog post running through them all and reflecting on last year's so I thought it might be nice to have a little recap of how I'm doing this year. Frighteningly enough it is the middle of July now (and today has actually been hot, say whaaat?) so a half of 2016 has now gone by. With that in mind, here is the half-way-through resolution review.

Anti-Bucket List: June

June has been a funny old month. It's my first one of life AU (after uni), only I'm still waiting on results and ~graduating~ so we're not quite AU yet. It still has a hold on me and that's okay.

After the EU

Today, we're talking politics.

I don't really know what to say - I'm definitely not an expert and if you've stumbled across this blog post it's probably from Twitter, in which case you'll certainly have heard this all before, but I'm going to say it again. I need to say something and a tweet's not always long enough.

Vegetarianism: What's Your Problem?

This morning, Twitter informed me that today is #WorldMeatFreeDay, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to share some thoughts I've been having for a little while. Namely, offended meat-eaters.

Anti-Bucket List: May

May has been mad. Madder than mad. The whole year seems to have been building up to May and you may (get it? ha ha ha ha) have gathered from previous posts and general online chatter that it's been dissertation months. It's in, it's over, it's done, and I still feel weird about it - I've talked about it here if you're interested.

A Threefold Muddle

It's been a completely mad week. Mad, busy and overwhelming to say the very least. After months of hard work, stress, long days in the library and several mini meltdowns, I handed in my undergraduate dissertation on Wednesday. And now I feel weird. I'm an emotional mess.

I've been thinking a lot in the two days since my hand in and it's come down to three things: I am a threefold muddle.
